Balu Australia is a 100% Indigenous owned sole trader business born in Broome Western Australia created & managed by owner Gabrielle Rahman a Djugan, Jabirr Jabirr, Yawuru, Nyul Nyul descendant born in Broome.
Gabrielle has studied Visual Arts, Retail, Fashion & Textile Design in Perth during 2001-2007, as well as studying Leadership, Land conservation & Digital Design in 2014.

Balu is a Djugan word, which means tree or wood, Djugan people are the traditional first peoples from Broome, Western Australia.
Balu represents sacred knowledge & wisdom. Balu is the 'seed' the 'leaf' the 'wood' the 'tree' the 'branches' reaching out sharing her bountiful Balu Gifts.
Balu created hand-colour crafted eco silks, sustainable jewellery, canvas arts & ethical Indigenous made wood crafts and showcased at the Broome Makers Gallery in Chinatown Johnny Chi Lane in 2016 alongside other local artisan creators.
Balu has provided its creative art services to a range of businesses over the years, and has attended Taste of Broome & provided fashion, jewellery & eco scarves to the Kimberley & Pilbara Girl participants to wear in their fashion show events.
